Photo Mosaic Task 02

Idea:

To create a Photo Mosaic using my own images and create an interesting background, then blend with another image so that the final image pops, kind of like a 3D image -  Thats the idea anyway

How I did it.

First I select 2 images that I want to feature in the Mosaic B/G and opened in PS.

Using the crop tool I change each image to a small square and also change the size to  50px x 50px.

I opened a new document and resize to a square 200px x 200px.

I then copy and paste the images to this new document and place each image diagonally opposite each other.

Next step is to Flatten the image and Define Pattern.  B/G mosaic complete.

I then select the main image.   For this particular exercise I have choosen one of the images I used in the background.  The image is simple so I think this will work well with my idea.

Open the main image in PS.
Create a new layer.
On the new layer create a mask.
Fill with pattern, (using the mosaic pattern created earlier)
This blends the main image and the mosaic Background.  I played around with different blend modes until achieved the look I was after.

I am very Happy with the final Image.  I have achieved the result I wanted and have given another dimension to my Flower Image.

I played around with different sizes in the background image to see what effect I would get with a more obvious background mosaic.  Here are the results.  I like these im
