Post Modernism

What is post modernism?  This is a hard question to answer.

Traditional Photography focuses on subjects that are interesting, beautiful or unusual.  The word Banal is often used in relation to Post modern photography.  Ordinary or boring subjects challenge the viewer and asks the question, if the subject is boring is it still art?

I Think the best way to get a grasp of Post Modernism in Photography is to have a look at some examples.   William Eggleston is an American photographer, famous for his post modern images.  Eggleston  worked with colour images at a time when only Black & White images were considered art.
His subjects are everyday, trivial and mundane.  The real subject being colour itself.

I head out with my camera to look for  inspiration among the ordinary everyday things in search of what I feel will make an interesting post modern image.  Here are some of the images I took that I feel meet the brief, The subject matter everyday and ordinary but with a splash of colour that I feel enhances the image and increases the interest.
